Export cable installation for the Fécamp Offshore Wind Farm started on 26 September 2021, when RTE and its contractor Prysmian’s cable-laying vessel Cable Enterprise began installing the first 225 kV submarine power cable between the offshore substation and the Normandy coast off Fécamp. The campaign involved pulling the cable ashore via pre-installed ducts at the landfall and then laying and burying approximately 18 km of cable offshore in a trench about 1 m deep over several weeks, ahead of installing a second parallel circuit later in 2021.
