Fugro was contracted by ScottishPower Renewables to carry out a multidisciplinary site investigation programme for the East Anglia Hub, including surveys over the wind farm development areas and along the export cable routes. Fugro’s scope included UXO surveys, bathymetric and sub-bottom profiling surveys, and associated data processing and reporting, with work executed from geophysical survey vessels. The programme also included geotechnical investigations at wind turbine locations (including ultra-deep CPTs, downhole and seismic CPTs, sampling and borehole logging) and shallow geotechnical testing and sampling along the export cable routes, supported by laboratory soil testing. The phased site investigations were scheduled to complete by the end of 2021 to inform ground models, seabed mobility assessment, foundation design and cable-route engineering.
