First Power

The Ofgem Tender Round 13 launch webinar slides (2 September 2025) show the East Anglia THREE OFTO milestones timeline with First Power, Full Export and COD clustered in 2026, ahead of the Expected OFTO Divestment Completion in 2027. Masdar and Iberdrola separately confirmed that the wind farm will come into initial operation in Q4 2026. The transmission system must achieve first power before the wind farm can export, so first power for the HVDC export system is projected for Q3 2026. This aligns with the SPR project activity page reporting that electrical installation at the Bramford onshore converter station is nearing completion and commissioning activities have started, and with the offshore substation topside having been installed in October 2025. NKT began export cable installation in June 2025 with the first cable landed at Bawdsey in July 2025. The offshore and onshore infrastructure is thus on track for energisation in mid-to-late 2026 ahead of the wind farm COD.
