East Anglia ONE export HVAC system comprising two parallel 220 kV subsea export cables between the offshore substation and landfall near Bawdsey, forming part of the 123 km export route to Bramford substation.
Nexans held the export cable contract for the East Anglia ONE transmission connection, supplying and taking overall responsibility for the installation of the high-voltage AC subsea export cables that link the offshore substation to the UK onshore grid. The company provided the 220 kV HVAC twin-circuit subsea export cable system for the 714 MW East Anglia ONE wind farm, forming the core of the offshore transmission assets later transferred to the East Anglia ONE OFTO. As prime contractor for the export cable package, Nexans manufactured the subsea cables and engaged specialist installation contractor DeepOcean to execute the offshore laying and burial during the construction phase.
