On 4 July 2022, the Electricity (Individual Exemption from the Requirement for a Transmission Licence) (East Anglia One) (England) Order 2022 was published, granting East Anglia One an individual exemption from needing a transmission licence while it undertook remedial works to address technical issues discovered in summer 2021 on its onshore cables, which had to be resolved before transfer of the transmission assets to the preferred OFTO could proceed.
