Vysiion

Vysiion was contracted (through Siemens Transmission & Distribution) to support the Dudgeon transmission link’s critical communications and security infrastructure. The scope included design, project management, supply, installation, configuration, testing and on-site commissioning at the onshore 132 kV substation at Necton, the remote Marine Operations Centre at Great Yarmouth, and the offshore substation platform. Deliverables included the SDH transmission backbone between Necton and the offshore platform, communications subsystems and infrastructure supporting the OFTO SCADA LAN and associated operational systems (including CCTV, intruder detection and telephony), passive fibre/structured cabling onshore and offshore, interfaces to third-party systems (e.g., export cable DTS, metering/monitoring, protection/intertripping and navigational aids), Wi‑Fi coverage, and a fibre-optic perimeter detection system at Necton.
