Turnkey contractor for Ellevio, responsible for trenching from Billdal switchyard and installation and splicing of two 8.5 km 24 kV subsea cables to Donsö.
Kraftringen Service held a turnkey contract from Ellevio for strengthening the electricity network on the Onsala peninsula and the islands of Gothenburg’s southern archipelago. Within this programme, Kraftringen Service was responsible for the new Billdal–Donsö subsea link. Its scope included preparing a 3.6 km cable trench from the Billdal switchyard to the shore at Killingholmen, managing the pull-in of two 24 kV subsea cables from the shoreline switchgear, and overseeing marine laying of the two parallel 8.5 km cables to Donsö. Kraftringen’s specialised jointers carried out time‑consuming splicing of each 1,000 m drum length on the barge, restoring the mechanical strength and integrity of the cable joints before seabed deployment and commissioning of each circuit.
