The DolWin1 HVDC offshore grid connection, including the onshore HVDC converter station at Dörpen West/Heede, was commissioned in 2015. This brought into operational service the ±320 kV, 800 MW HVDC Light link transmitting power from the DolWin alpha offshore converter platform via a 75 km subsea cable and 90 km land cable into the German transmission grid.
