ABB successfully energised its HVDC Light onshore converter station at the Dörpen West substation, completing the crucial onshore element of TenneT’s DolWin1 offshore transmission project in the German North Sea. This commissioning of the Dörpen West converter station enables the ±320 kV HVDC link from the DolWin alpha offshore converter platform to feed power into the German high-voltage grid.
