On 2 June 2011, TenneT TSO GmbH awarded Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke (NSW) a major order to supply and install two 13 km, 155 kV AC submarine transmission cables to connect the MEG 1 offshore transformer platform to TenneT’s DolWin alpha converter station about 75 km off the German coast, providing the network link that forms part of the 800 MW DolWin1 grid connection from the offshore wind farms to the Dörpen West converter station.
