Powersystems was awarded an electrical cable installation works contract by Jones Bros Civil Engineering to construct the Dogger Bank Wind Farm A and B onshore cable route. The scope included installing the onshore cable infrastructure from the Ulrome landfall to the new onshore converter stations south of Beverley, with the route connecting to National Grid’s Creyke Beck substation. The work included installation of electrical cables in ducts within trenches and, where required, drilling under existing infrastructure and natural obstacles; the logistics scope referenced delivery of 192 cable drums including around 120 km of HVDC cable and approximately 24 km of 400 kV cable.
