On 3 January 2011, Ministerial Decision No. FA/E 3.2/57/3 formally designated the project "Interconnection of Cyclades islands with the National Mainland Interconnected Transmission System" as a project of "general importance for the economy of the country", confirming its strategic priority; this umbrella decision applies to all phases of the Cyclades scheme, including Phase B’s Paros–Naxos high‑voltage link.
