In November 2006, the Greek government issued a ministerial decision designating the Cyclades Interconnection project—which involves linking Syros, Mykonos, Paros and Naxos to the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System and reinforcing the Andros–Tinos connection—as a project of "greater general importance for the country’s economy", thereby granting it priority status; this framework covers Phase B, including the 150 kV Paros–Naxos cable.
