Naxos - Mykonos connection with a submarine tripolar cable with a length of 40 km.
Hellenic Cables was awarded the high-voltage submarine cable contract for Phase B of the Cyclades Interconnection, covering the design, manufacture, installation, protection, termination and testing of approximately 52 kilometres of 150 kV AC three-core submarine cables. Within this scope, the company supplied and installed about 40 kilometres of 150 kV HVAC tripolar submarine cable forming the Naxos–Mykonos interconnection, which closes the transmission loop between Paros, Naxos and Mykonos and integrates Naxos into the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System. The cables were manufactured at Hellenic Cables’ plant in Corinth, Greece, and installed together with the associated offshore works to reinforce the reliability of electricity supply in the Cyclades islands.
