Crikvenica–Krk 110 kV HVAC submarine power cable link between Crikvenica on the Croatian mainland and the Konjin area on the island of Krk, providing a redundant island grid connection in the Adriatic Sea.
Hellenic Cables, the cables segment of Cenergy Holdings, signed a contract with Končar Group to supply approximately 12 km of 110 kV XLPE-insulated submarine power cables, accessories and related services for the Croatian Transmission System Operator’s Adriatic Sea cable replacement programme. This programme includes the new 110 kV Crikvenica–Krk island link, where Hellenic Cables manufactured around 4.6 km of HVAC submarine cable for the subsea section between the Croatian mainland at Crikvenica and the Konjin area on the island of Krk. Cable production took place at Hellenic Cables’ submarine cable factory in Corinth, Greece during 2021–2022, supporting improved security of electricity supply and integration of new renewable generation on Krk.
