TERNA S. A., a member of the GEK TERNA Group, participated as the civil works and installation partner in the Siemens‑led consortium awarded the EPC turnkey contract for the Crete–Attica HVDC link by Ariadne Interconnection S. P. S. A. Within this consortium, Terna was responsible for the HV distribution systems, all related civil engineering works, and the erection of all equipment for the two onshore HVDC converter stations at Koumoundouros (Attica) and Damasta (Crete), as well as the associated GIS substation on Crete. Terna’s role focused on the construction and installation phase, delivering the physical infrastructure and installing the Siemens‑supplied electrical equipment, with contracts signed in June 2020 and commissioning then targeted for mid‑2023.
