Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE), the French transmission system operator, was responsible for connecting the Courseulles-sur-Mer (Calvados) offshore wind farm to the onshore French electricity grid. The connection scope described included a 225 kV offshore-to-shore export link of about 15 km (submarine) to the landfall area near Bernières-sur-Mer and a further underground 225 kV link of about 24 km from the landfall to the Ranville substation in Normandy.
