IPTO/ADMIE's revised planning for the Dodecanese interconnection programme, as reported by Balkan Green Energy News in February 2026, indicates that the Dodecanese interconnections — which include the Corinth–Kos HVDC link — will now enter commercial operation in 2030, revised from the earlier 2029 target stated in ADMIE's Q1 2025 investor presentation and the original 2027 target from the TYNDP 2023-2032. The revision reflects cumulative procurement delays: the initial submarine cable tender launched in November 2024 was declared unsuccessful in December 2025 after receiving no bids, necessitating a re-launch in December 2025 with revised terms and an increased cable budget of EUR 1.35 billion. The converter station tender remains under evaluation separately. With the cable contract not yet awarded, a 36-month construction period from contract signature means the earliest realistic first power date aligns with the 2030 commercial operations target. IPTO has also proposed a higher allowed revenue limit to accommodate the increased project costs. The EIB financing agreement (EUR 1.9 billion package) was signed in February 2026, providing the financial foundation for construction once procurement is complete. First power for the Corinth–Kos interconnection is projected for mid-2030, ahead of full commercial operations later that year, consistent with IPTO's revised Dodecanese programme timeline.
