On 14 October 2020, at the inauguration of the new Capri–mainland power connection, Terna announced that it had invested a total of €150 million in the project linking Capri with Sorrento and Torre Annunziata via two alternating current undersea cables and associated substation works, delivering environmental benefits and improved security of supply for the island.
