In 2012 Terna took the first step toward the Capri–Torre Annunziata submarine power link by launching plans for the initial undersea cable between Torre Annunziata and Capri, associated with construction of a new substation on Capri that would later go into operation in 2017 as part of the island’s definitive connection to the Italian mainland.
