On 24 September 2013, Terna Rete Italia S.p.A., part of Italian TSO Terna S.p.A., awarded Prysmian Group a contract worth about €70 million to supply and install the 150 kV HVAC submarine and land power cable system linking Capri with Torre Annunziata on the mainland. The turnkey scope covers approximately 30 km of submarine cable and 1 km of land cable, related network components and specialist civil works, with cable manufacture at Prysmian’s Arco Felice plant and marine laying by the vessel Giulio Verne, as part of Terna’s wider ‘Progetto Insula’ to connect Italian islands to the mainland.
