Prysmian Group reports that installation of the new 150 kV HVAC cable system forming the Capri–Sorrento submarine and onshore electricity link, awarded by Terna Rete Italia, is planned to begin in 2018, with installation activities scheduled across 2018–2019 and overall project completion expected in 2019. The turnkey project includes about 16 km of submarine route and 3 km on land between the Sorrento substation and the station at the Ecological Island of Gasto on Capri, with Prysmian responsible for laying the submarine cable using its cable-laying vessel Cable Enterprise and carrying out associated civil works.
