Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE) launched a pre‑qualification process for a tender to deliver three 750 MW HVAC offshore substations, to be installed 40–50 kilometres offshore to connect floating wind farms off Southern Brittany (AO5) and in the French Mediterranean to the onshore grid. The pre‑qualification, which covers the Bretagne Sud AO5 offshore substation among others, opened on 28 December 2023 and runs until 26 January 2024.
