Bohlen & Doyen (a subsidiary of Friedrich Vorwerk Group SE) signed a contract with cable manufacturer Nexans to realise the BorWin6 onshore underground cable connection from the landfall at Büsum, Schleswig-Holstein, to the future converter station in Büttel. The contracted onshore section was described as approximately 45 km long and included trenchless horizontal directional drilling (HDD) for crossings along the route.
