Geotech Survey Complete

In 2015, TenneT commissioned a survey to investigate the soil conditions along the subsea export cable route for the Borssele offshore grid connection, including the Borssele Beta link. The survey, executed by an experienced specialist contractor, collected data on the seabed and subsoil; however, it did not reveal the challenging physical conditions later encountered on the Northern slope of the Honte during sea cable installation works, which were subsequently deemed unforeseeable and contributed to increased costs for the Borssele Beta export cable works.
