For the Borssele Alpha offshore grid connection, TenneT’s contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V., through its subsidiary VBMS, planned offshore site preparation works in the 2018–2019 period, including pre-sweeping and dredging of the shallow parts of the Western Scheldt export cable route to enable simultaneous laying and burial of the two 61‑kilometre export cables between the offshore wind farm area and the onshore Borssele high-voltage substation in the Netherlands.
