DELAYED +1yr (May 2026): The updated Danish political agreement on Energiø Bornholm’s economic framework (3 Feb 2026) presupposes overall commissioning in the period 2034–2036 (with risk of further delay). Given that revised programme-level timeline, starting offshore cable installation by end-2030 is likely optimistic; shifting start to 2031 to align cable-laying with an early/mid-2030s build-out. DELAYED +4yr (Apr 2026): The 2022 Swedish EEZ impact assessment assumed construction of each HVDC cable system in 2025–2030, which underpinned our original 2026 installation-start date. Later documents show delay: a 2024 TED/Metal Supply notice keeps the Siemens Energy converter award conditional on FID, and 50Hertz’s BEI page (Jan 2026) now targets commissioning of the Bornholm–Germany link in 2034. With FID slipping past 2025 and COD around 2034, a 2026 start is unrealistic, so I move cable installation start to 2030. --- Cable installation for the Bornholm Energy Island HVDC cable systems in the Swedish economic zone is planned to be carried out in one or two construction campaigns, with each cable system requiring up to three years of installation within the overall 2025–2030 timeframe.
