Offshore construction of the Bockstigen wind farm off Gotland, Sweden, began as part of a build programme carried out between 1996 and 1997, using drilled monopile foundations and a jack-up barge to install five Wind World turbines under an EU-THERMIE–supported demonstration project aimed at proving the economic viability of offshore wind.
