33 kV cable / 1,852 m array cable to connect the Haliade turbine to Belwind’s OHVS; scope included installation, excavation, erosion protection, post-trenching and rock placement
Jan De Nul Group installed the 33 kV infield (array) cable connecting the Alstom Haliade 150-6 MW demonstration turbine to Belwind’s offshore high-voltage substation (OHVS). The scope included cable installation, excavation, post-trenching/burial using an ROV trencher, pull-in assistance and touchdown monitoring, and erosion protection/rock placement at crossings and at the OHVS and wind turbine interfaces. Installation works were carried out with the fallpipe vessel Simon Stevin, which was equipped with cable-lay and trenching tools for the campaign in July–August 2014.
