Description
Alstom designed, manufactured and installed its Haliade 150-6MW direct-drive offshore wind turbine as a single-turbine demonstration at the Belwind facility on Bligh Bank, offshore Belgium. The turbine was installed in November 2013 and was later connected to the Belwind electrical system; commissioning and offshore testing were used to optimise installation and commissioning procedures and to fine-tune operation and maintenance practices. Industry and project database sources also identified Alstom Power as a developer/operator for the demonstration turbine at the Belwind site.
