On 27 September 2011, TC Barrow OFTO Ltd was awarded an offshore transmission licence for the Barrow offshore transmission assets, took ownership of the assets, and secured an 18.5-year regulated revenue term. The assets were transferred for a final transfer value of £33.6 million, establishing the OFTO’s tender revenue stream for operating the 132 kV connection linking the 90 MW Barrow offshore wind farm to the onshore grid at Heysham.
