GE Grid Solutions, as leader of a consortium with McDermott, entered into an agreement with TenneT for award of the German 2 GW HVDC projects BalWin4 and LanWin1. GE Grid Solutions’ stated role as consortium leader covered engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCI) of the 2 GW, 525 kV bipolar VSC HVDC converter stations, comprising both offshore converter platforms and onshore converter stations for AC/DC conversion and grid connection at Unterweser.
