Hitachi Energy was contracted to deliver the electrical systems infrastructure for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects including the onshore substations. Polenergia reports that two onshore substations in Pęplino (Pęplin) for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects are being executed by Hitachi Energy, with a significant part of the advanced substation equipment — including autotransformers — manufactured at Hitachi Energy's Łódź facilities in Poland. The scope covers system studies, high-voltage equipment, and turnkey delivery of the onshore substations with interfacing works at the PSE Słupsk Wierzbięcino grid connection point. The contract was originally awarded by Equinor and Polenergia in December 2022.
