The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) issued Decision BK6-17-087 certifying Baltic Cable AB as a Transmission System Operator under the Independent Transmission Operator (ITO) unbundling provisions of Section 10 of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG). The certification formalised Baltic Cable AB's status as a regulated TSO for the German end of the 600 MW Sweden–Germany HVDC interconnector and triggered the corresponding unbundling, governance and reporting obligations that apply to ITO-certified operators.
