Semco Maritime delivered the electrical and technical systems for the Anholt A offshore transformer platform, working for platform fabricator Bladt Industries A/S and ultimate owner Energinet.dk. Semco's scope covered the surveillance, lighting, ventilation and fire-fighting systems for both enclosed and open areas of the approximately 1,800-tonne substation, which steps the wind farm's 33 kV output up to 220 kV for transmission to shore. During the construction and installation campaign in 2012, around 45 electricians worked on site in Aalborg and the Kattegat, led by a five-person management group. Semco Maritime concluded the work in August 2012. The platform serves the 400 MW Anholt Offshore Wind Farm — at the time the largest offshore wind farm in Denmark — forming the offshore node of Energinet.dk's grid connection.
