Aminth placed on hold following the termination of its grid connection agreement in Denmark as of August 2024, linked to the Danish Energy Agency delay of the North Sea Energy Island to 2036. Ofgem subsequently confirmed rejection of the cap and floor application in November 2024 due to deliverability concerns. Without a revenue regime or grid connection, the 1.4 GW GB-Denmark interconnector developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has no viable path to financing. CIP has not formally cancelled the project but has submitted no further evidence to support its progression.
