NKT Cables A/S was awarded the supply contract by SEAS-NVE Holding A/S (now Cerius A/S) under the 19 July 2011 Danish public tender (CPV 31321220/31321400) for the design, manufacture and supply of a new 12 kV submarine cable to replace the approximately 50-year-old existing link between Agersø and Omø islands in Smålandsfarvandet. The contract scope included a three-core PEX-insulated sea-armoured submarine cable with 95 mm² aluminium conductors, longitudinally water-tight design, rated for operation in water depths up to 40 metres and delivered on 1-2 drums.
