Fata S.p.A., working in consortium with Siemens Energy, was appointed to provide balance-of-plant works for the two HVDC converter stations on Terna’s Adriatic Link between Marche and Abruzzo. For a contract value of approximately €163 million, Fata is responsible for turnkey delivery of the converter-station balance of plant, including all civil works, the supply and installation of electromechanical and auxiliary systems, and start-up assistance at the Fano and Cepagatti sites. This construction-phase role supports the implementation and commissioning of the 500 kV onshore converter stations that interface the 1 GW Adriatic Link HVDC cable with the Italian transmission grid.
