ZRB Janicki (Zakład Remontowo-Budowlany Janicki) is a Polish family company based in Gierałtowice that specialises in trenchless and conventional underground construction works. Established in 1978, it focuses on crossing terrain obstacles and building external utility installations, delivering projects for gas, fuel, energy, water and sewage, and district heating companies, as well as for local government units, budgetary institutions, commercial companies and private customers. The company’s core competence is horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and related jacking works under roads and other obstacles, including Intersect drilling, large‑diameter bores above DN1000 and long‑distance drillings with maximum lengths up to 2,500 metres and diameters up to DN1400.
ZRB Janicki operates a modern machinery park with seven drilling sets for drilling and horizontal drilling with thrust/pull forces from 30 to 3,000 kN, complemented by jacking sets, excavator‑loaders, PE pipe connection equipment and soil compaction machines. It performs HDD installations up to 1,000 mm diameter and 1,000 m length for PE, steel and ductile iron pipelines, and offers jacking (DN25–500), relining (up to DN1200), PE pipe welding (up to DN1200), and hydrodynamic cleaning of sewage and water systems in PVC, PE, cast-iron, ceramic and concrete pipes. The company also undertakes sewer and water connections, deep excavations, macro‑ and micro‑levelling, linear and cubature excavations, demolition using heavy equipment, and construction equipment rental.
In the energy and offshore wind value chain, ZRB Janicki designs HDD sections for export cable landfalls and onshore cable corridors, including work near Ustka for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms developed by Equinor and Polenergia, and participation in a Polish consortium with ROMGOS Gwiazdowscy for works enabling connection of the offshore and onshore sections of export cables for the Baltica 2 project. The company reports more than 20 km of completed drilling, including 5 km of large‑diameter projects and two crossings exceeding 1 km, and has delivered pioneering trenchless installations such as the first DN1000 installation in Poland and the first European installation of four Flexx Brugg district heating pipes in a single borehole in Gdańsk.
ZRB Janicki has repeatedly invested in innovation through EU‑co‑financed projects. These include the purchase of an innovative drilling rig and drilling tools, implementation of a drilling fluid recycling system and laboratory to support trenchless technologies, development of large‑size and long‑distance two‑way Intersect drilling with an advanced separation system, and the implementation of an energy‑efficient directional drilling technology using an ecological electric drive, aimed at improving competitiveness, precision and environmental performance of its trenchless operations.
