It works extensively in offshore renewables, covering fixed and floating foundations, wind turbine generators, offshore substations, subsea power cables, wave and tidal devices and offshore platforms, including tidal stream sites. Its teams review and approve the transport and installation of high‑value equipment and assets for developers, underwriters, brokers, assureds and contractors, checking engineering documentation and procedures against best practice, standards and regulations. The firm has more than 15 years’ experience on offshore wind farm projects from demonstrator units to multi‑billion‑euro developments across the UK, Europe and Asia, including monopile and jacket foundations, turbines, substations and high‑voltage AC and DC export, array and interconnector cables.
Within marine and ports, Waves Group undertakes casualty response and investigation, claims and litigation support, salvage and wreck removal, crane and fixed/floating object damage assessments, surveys, inspections and audits, port consultancy and maritime digitalisation. Its Innovation & Technology activities include digital and 3D surveys, collaborative virtual environments, data visualisation and simulation to reconstruct maritime incidents and support project and casualty assessments. The company operates from regional hubs in the UK, Europe, Singapore and Houston, with around 55 staff including master mariners, marine and civil engineers, structural engineers and naval architects.
