Trelleborg is a multinational engineering group that develops engineered polymer solutions to seal, damp and protect critical applications in demanding environments. The company focuses on polymer-based critical solutions such as seals, hoses, anti‑vibration and damping systems, fenders and coated fabrics, which are used to enhance performance, safety and durability in equipment and infrastructure. Its solutions serve aerospace, automotive, energy, marine and port infrastructure, healthcare, water management, construction, agriculture and general industrial sectors, including applications that protect water networks, ports and energy facilities. In 2025, Trelleborg reported sales of about SEK 34.3 billion and operated in roughly 40 countries with more than 17,000 employees, supported by over 100 manufacturing sites and a decentralized, regionally anchored organization.
Operations are structured into three business areas: Trelleborg Industrial Solutions, which supplies hose systems, industrial anti‑vibration solutions and selected industrial sealing systems; Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, which provides precision sealing and bearing solutions for industrial, automotive and aerospace applications; and Trelleborg Medical Solutions, which delivers polymer-based integrated solutions for medical devices and biopharma. The group strategy is to build leading positions in carefully selected segments, shifting its portfolio toward structurally growing markets such as medical technology, industrial automation, aerospace and semiconductors, supported by organic investments in new and upgraded production facilities in regions including Vietnam, India and Costa Rica and by acquisitions such as Minnesota Rubber & Plastics, Baron Group, National Gummi, Masterseals and Aero‑Plastics.
Trelleborg positions innovation and sustainability as core to its value creation. It operates 35 R&D centers, applies a market‑driven innovation approach and targets sales growth above 8 percent and an EBITA margin above 20 percent over a business cycle. The group has committed to Science Based Targets to reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement, has already met a previous goal to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50 percent by 2025, and reports a 69 percent emissions improvement by 2025. Additional 2030 targets include sourcing 25 percent of raw materials from recycled or renewable origins and reaching 30 percent female representation in management levels 1–5. Recent strategic actions also include reducing exposure to more cyclical and lower‑growth segments, including divesting its tire business and significantly lowering exposure to oil and gas.
