Sollatek is a UK-based energy technology company specialising in voltage protection, power control, refrigeration temperature control and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity solutions. Founded in London in 1983 by electronics engineer Dr Janan Allos, the company was built around his patented Automatic Voltage Switcher, developed to protect electrical and electronic equipment from erratic power. Sollatek (UK) Limited now operates from Sollatek House in Langley, Slough, manufactures other electrical equipment, and designs products for the power-control, energy‑saving, temperature‑control and solar‑energy sectors. Its portfolio includes automatic voltage switchers, stabilisers and UPS systems for domestic, commercial and industrial applications, solid‑state automatic voltage regulators for power grid substations, turnkey off‑grid solar power systems for telecoms, street lighting and water pumping, and electronic controllers and energy‑saving devices for commercial refrigeration.
The company supplies both utilities and large industrial and retail customers. It has become a preferred supplier to the UK National Grid for grid‑strengthening programmes and, since 2003, has provided voltage stabilisation solutions for the offshore wind farm industry, reporting more than 16,000 MW of stabilised power delivered to offshore wind projects. Sollatek is also an authorised supplier to UNICEF for voltage stabilisers protecting vaccine refrigerators and has deployed large volumes of such equipment in developing countries, including during the Covid‑19 vaccine roll‑out. In commercial refrigeration, it provides embedded voltage protection, temperature control and IoT-based monitoring for beverage coolers and freezers, and positions itself as a global leader in point‑of‑sale connectivity for major beverage and ice cream brands. Sollatek supports these activities through an in‑house R&D team, manufacturing of around 30,000 devices per week in factories in Thailand and Alexandria, Egypt, and a global network of Local Sollatek Companies and distributors covering numerous countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Corporate policies emphasise quality management to ISO 9001:2015 standards, with a focus on continuous improvement and customer requirements, and a stated vision to lead in voltage protection, refrigeration control, energy‑saving and photovoltaic solutions. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility commitments, Sollatek aims to promote sustainability and support under‑served communities by supplying essential goods, sometimes at low or no cost to registered charities, while seeking to balance economic, social and environmental performance.
