Société de Dragage International (SDI) is a French marine construction and engineering company based in Lambersart in the Nord department. Founded in 1987, the company specialises in the construction of maritime and river works and is active in towage and salvage activities. SDI operates as a subsidiary of DEME – Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering NV – and uses the DEME Group platform for its commercial and technical interface with clients.
Within the DEME family of companies, SDI contributes to dredging, land reclamation, marine infrastructure and offshore solutions offered to customers in France. Directory and project information describe SDI as providing engineering services covering dredging, land reclamation, marine and offshore solutions, infrastructure activities and installation services, serving French customers across multiple sectors. As DEME’s French subsidiary, SDI has been associated with significant dredging assets, including the heavy self‑propelled cutter suction dredger d’Artagnan, which was built for SDI and supports complex capital dredging and rock-breaking works.
SDI is also involved in France’s offshore wind sector. A consortium of Atlantique Offshore Energy, GE Grid Solutions and SDI has been contracted to deliver offshore electrical substations for the Saint‑Nazaire, Fécamp and Courseulles‑sur‑Mer offshore wind farms, including fabrication at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique yard and delivery of substations of around 500 MW capacity for Fécamp and Courseulles‑sur‑Mer. In addition, SDI, as part of the DEME Group, has worked in consortium with subsea cable supplier JDR on the 30 MW EFGL floating wind project off Leucate, contributing to the supply, testing and termination scope for 66 kV dynamic cables.
