Oceanteam is a marine and offshore energy company focused on subsea cable logistics and associated assets for the offshore renewables and subsea oil and gas sectors. Through Oceanteam ASA, a Norwegian public company listed in Oslo since 2007, the group has historically owned, chartered and managed deepwater offshore construction service vessels, pipelay vessels and fast support vessels, complemented by engineering and design services and rental equipment. It has operated globally across oil and gas, offshore renewables and high‑voltage submarine power interconnector markets, supported by an equipment pool including trenchers, ploughs, tensioners, carousels, turntables and related auxiliary equipment that can be supplied standalone or in combination with vessels and barges.
Its operating platform today centres on Oceanteam Cable Solutions, based in the Netherlands and part of the Combifloat Group. This business provides end‑to‑end subsea cable and umbilical logistics, including cable transport, long‑term storage, rental of modular carousels, tensioners, loading towers and auxiliary equipment, and integrated project management plus design and fabrication services. Oceanteam Cable Solutions emphasises carousel‑based export and inter‑array cable transport and dynamic storage, delivered under single‑contract scopes from engineering and mobilisation through offshore operations and demobilisation. The company maintains North Sea–region bases with global deployment capability and has supported projects such as Empire Wind 1, EFGL floating wind and dynamic cable storage campaigns in Europe and North America.
Under new ownership since January 2023 and as part of Combifloat, Oceanteam combines in‑house engineering with standardised, easily mobilised equipment spreads to de‑risk offshore execution and support the energy transition. At the listed‑company level, Oceanteam ASA has described itself as an investment platform for marine and offshore assets with particular focus on the energy transition, and in 2024 agreed a statutory merger with Soiltech AS aimed at creating synergies between Oceanteam’s asset platform and Soiltech’s industrial waste and water treatment technologies.
