MEWO S.A. is an independent Polish company specialising in marine surveys and subsea engineering for the European offshore energy market. Headquartered in Straszyn, it is described as Poland’s largest independent provider of environmental, geophysical and geotechnical surveys and measurements. Operating for over a decade, MEWO delivers integrated site investigation and monitoring services across the Baltic, Mediterranean and North Seas and the southern North Sea, serving offshore wind developers, oil and gas operators, subsea telecommunications and pipeline owners, maritime administration, dredging and mineral resources projects, and scientific clients in markets including Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Sweden, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Norway. The company has also supported critical infrastructure such as the Baltic Pipe and works on most Polish offshore wind projects for utilities including PGE and Polenergia.
MEWO’s service portfolio covers desktop studies, hydrographic and seismic surveys, UXO detection, OBN seismic, geotechnical sampling and drilling, static CPT sounding, and a wide range of environmental surveys on avifauna, bats, benthos, fish, hydrometeorology, geochemistry and hydrochemistry. It performs ROV-based inspections and non‑invasive surveys of seabed assets, cables, pipelines and underwater structures, as well as subsea photogrammetry and 3D modelling. Operations are supported by specialist measurement systems, in‑house technical facilities, and a dedicated fleet including the survey vessels Amber Agatha and Amber Cecilia and nearshore MEWO Surveyor craft. The team comprises roughly 200 offshore professionals and can scale to 450–500 people depending on chartered vessels. MEWO works under an integrated management system certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and aligned with ISO 26000, with formal policies on quality, environmental protection, health and safety, ethics, human rights and ESG. Revenue is generated through project‑based service contracts, and recent growth capital from Vinci, part of the BGK Group, is being used to expand the survey fleet, advanced ROV technologies and digital infrastructure, and to accelerate geographic expansion, including deeper North Sea and broader international coverage.
