Jack-Up Barge operates as an owner and operator of offshore self-elevating jack-up units serving the renewable energy, oil and gas and marine construction markets. Founded in 2003 following the acquisition of modular jack-ups from Ballast Nedam, the company has since developed a fleet that it owns and exclusively manages, consisting of the jack-up barges JB 114, JB 115, JB 117, JB 119, JB 120 and the unit Swift 10. Its head office is in Oosterhout in the Netherlands, and it works with clients globally, with experience across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Americas. Jack-Up Barge is part of the Van Es Group.
The company provides offshore lifting, accommodation and maintenance solutions, with services covering accommodation and crane support, well services, transport and installation, decommissioning and plug and abandonment. It is active in offshore wind, including offshore substation and accommodation campaigns, and in oil and gas late-life well services, as well as in civil and marine construction. Project examples include the deployment of JB 119 to support construction of a sea jetty for the new LNG terminal at Brunsbüttel in Germany and the planned use of JB 120 alongside the East Anglia Three offshore converter station. All units are self-elevating platforms designed for year-round North Sea operations. Jack-Up Barge emphasises quality, health, safety and environment through its “Elevating Safety” programme, which targets continuous improvement onshore and offshore, and frames its role as supporting sustainable offshore energy and the wider energy transition.
