Headquartered in Maroussi, Athens, it develops and supplies cable solutions for energy transmission and distribution, renewables and offshore wind, telecom and data networks, construction and industrial markets. The group manufactures power, telecommunication and submarine cables, as well as enamelled wires and plastic and rubber compounds, serving customers in more than 50 markets worldwide.
The company’s production base comprises four cable plants in Thiva, Eleonas and Corinth in Greece and Bucharest in Romania, and auxiliary plants in Oinofyta, Greece and Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. The vertically integrated Corinth facility is one of the world’s largest and most advanced submarine cable plants, with in‑house copper and aluminium foundries, extensive storage and its own port for direct loading of long, continuous high- and extra-high-voltage submarine cables up to 500 kV. Thiva specialises in land power cables, while Eleonas is being developed as a centre of excellence for low-voltage and fibre‑optic cables. The company also operates through Fulgor S.A. for submarine and high‑voltage products and Icme Ecab S.A. in Bucharest for a broad portfolio of power, industrial, marine, mining, signalling and telecommunication cables.
Hellenic Cables provides turnkey solutions including route survey, design and engineering, manufacturing, installation, testing, commissioning and customer training. It is an approved supplier to major transmission system operators and has been selected for large offshore wind and grid projects in the North Sea, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean, Taiwan and North America. Strategic priorities include continued investment in submarine and land cable capacity, expansion into the U.S. via a new Baltimore plant, and embedding innovation and sustainability through certified environmental and energy management systems and large-scale use of renewable electricity.
