Bureau Veritas is a global provider of laboratory testing, inspection and certification services founded in 1828. The group positions itself as a “Business to Business to Society” company, helping organizations in hundreds of industries ensure that assets, products, infrastructure and processes comply with quality, health and safety, environmental protection and social responsibility standards. Its activities span agri‑food and commodities, automotive and transport, marine and offshore, oil and gas, power and utilities (including renewables and hydrogen), buildings and infrastructure, consumer products and retail, cybersecurity, financial services and public sector, among others.
The company operates more than 1,600 offices and laboratories in around 140 countries, employing over 82,000–83,000 people worldwide and serving about 400,000 clients. In North America alone it has about 8,000 employees across 130 locations, with a regional headquarters in New York City and a separate North American head office in Florida. Bureau Veritas also maintains regional hubs such as its Riyadh headquarters, underpinned by several offices and laboratories and some 800 employees in Saudi Arabia. Group revenue was approximately €6.4–6.5 billion in 2025.
Strategically, Bureau Veritas is pursuing growth through a mix of organic expansion and bolt‑on acquisitions, including recent deals that strengthen its positions in data centers and semiconductors and in other higher‑growth, higher‑margin segments. Its LEAP | 28 strategy emphasizes portfolio shifts, digitalization, and sustainability services, notably through the BV Green Line offerings that help public- and private‑sector clients implement and verify sustainability, ESG and climate objectives, including support for net‑zero targets and climate‑aligned finance.
