Bluestream Offshore is a Dutch offshore contractor headquartered in Den Helder that provides specialist technical services above and below the waterline to the offshore energy sector, including oil and gas and offshore renewables. Founded in 2009, the company focuses on installation, inspection, repair, maintenance, drill and well support, and decommissioning of offshore assets. Its core technical capabilities comprise surface-supplied diving, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), working at height, rope access and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), which it combines in stand-alone, multi-disciplined and fully integrated campaigns. Bluestream owns and operates modular air-diving spreads and an expanding fleet of observation and compact work-class ROVs, and deploys these from vessels or at height to minimise downtime and simultaneous operations conflicts for clients.
Bluestream supports operators and main contractors throughout all phases of asset lifetimes, preparing and executing both planned and unplanned offshore interventions. Key service lines include installation and commissioning (such as riser, flexible and spool installations, seabed clearance, survey and commissioning activities), inspection, repair and maintenance (including non-destructive testing, statutory inspections, electrical and mechanical works, corrosion prevention and protective coatings), drill and well support, and subsea and topside decommissioning. Its client base ranges from small and medium-sized companies to major international oil and gas operators and offshore wind farm owners in the southern North Sea and beyond, with long-term relationships across virtually all major oil and gas operators in that basin.
The company maintains strong in-house engineering, project management, inspection and research and development teams, which develop tools such as ROV-based inspection and marine growth sampling solutions and other innovations aimed at delivering work more safely and efficiently, particularly for the renewable industry. Bluestream operates under multiple certifications including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and full IRATA and IMCA memberships. With turnover in excess of €55 million and a workforce of around 55 onshore employees and more than 300 offshore subsea and topside specialists, it was acquired in 2023 by OEG Energy Group and now operates as part of OEG Renewables while retaining the Bluestream brand.
