Canyon Offshore

Canyon Offshore is an international name used for subsea robotics and engineering services as well as integrated operations and maintenance support to the oil, gas, power and infrastructure sectors. One arm of Canyon Offshore operates as the robotics division of Helix Energy Solutions Group, headquartered in Houston, Texas. This business provides remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and light construction vessel services for offshore construction, drilling support, inspection, repair and maintenance, survey and project engineering, flowline and umbilical trenching in water depths to at least 2,500 m, and submarine cable burial for the submarine telecommunications sector. It charters and operates dynamically positioned construction and IMR vessels such as the Grand Canyon series and the Jones Act–compliant Ross Candies, equipping them with dual deepwater work-class ROV spreads and active heave compensated cranes to support deepwater projects, including long-term frameworks with contractors such as Technip and McDermott and strategic alliances for subsea blockage detection and remediation. A separate Canyon Offshore business, affiliated with Index Brook Limited, focuses on Africa, particularly Mozambique and West Africa. This entity is positioned as an engineering, construction and procurement service provider that is evolving into a full integrated operations and maintenance contractor for offshore and onshore oil, gas and power assets, subsea and pipeline systems, refineries and petrochemical plants. Its third-party contracting services cover conceptual, front-end and detailed design, operations support and training, routine and emergency maintenance, decommissioning planning, debottlenecking, and asset integrity services including inspection, blasting and coating, non-destructive testing, pigging and corrosion control. It also supplies technical manpower and is developing an investment management arm to identify and develop oil and gas fields and fee-based infrastructure projects in Nigeria, Ghana, Angola and Mozambique, with an explicit focus on local content and staff development.
